The Adventure Continues...

December 12, 2010: my diagnosis was ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease). You would think that this would hit me like a ton of bricks, but this was not the case. I have lived the life of ten men and just finished everything on my bucket list, including my recent visits to countries 83, 84 and 85.

I had already used up my nine lives — I’d figure out how to deal with it. Nothing courageous or heroic, just my survival DNA kicking in.

My greatest accomplishments in life are my relationship with my family and all my friends from around world. Together we shared many experiences both painful and joyful, but ultimately we made this world a better place not only for ourselves but for others we have yet to meet.

I have the support of the Oregon and SW Washington Chapter of The ALS Association. They are here for me every step of the way, helping me navigate this journey with ALS and providing me the tools, resources and equipment necessary to stay in control of my life.

This disease is merely a new beginning and a new journey for all of us. I am asking you to join me in building awareness about ALS and raising funds for finding a cure by making a donation to The ALS Association. Over the years we've accomplished so many things together, but this will be our ultimate achievement.
